With a career that began as a corrections officer in a maximum security prison, it can be said that Margo's career has come full circle. Along the way, Margo provided legal representation to Sheriffs across Texas, shared her knowledge with the future providers of public safety as an instructor at numerous colleges, and served two terms as Sheriff in Travis County, Texas. When it comes to public safety, it's safe to say that Margo is a true authority, with the credentials to back it up.
Beginning her career in public safety as a Corrections Officer in a Texas maximum security prison, Margo progressed through the ranks from Deputy Sheriff and Corrections Officer to Captain, where she managed the jail system for Travis County Sheriff's Office. After serving the citizens of Travis County, Texas, Margo elected to attend law school.
After law school, Margo's work as an attorney included the representation of police departments and Sheriff's Offices in civil rights and employment law matters. Since her days as acting council to numerous police departments and Sheriff's Offices across Texas, Margo has offered her consultation and expert testimony to all matters involving criminal justice, including law enforcement and corrections practices.
After establishing herself as a foremost expert on matters involving law enforcement, Margo decided to put her extensive knowledge of how to provide public safety to use, becoming the first female Sheriff in Travis County. Re-elected to a second term, Sheriff Frasier headed an agency with over 1,350 employees and a budget topping $90 million. In addition to ensuring the patrol of over 700 square miles of Travis County and managing the operations of a jail system holding over 2,400 inmates, Margo taught courses at St. Edwards in American Policing and Corrections.
Since her days as the top law enforcement official in Travis County, Margo has been lending her expertise to futures leaders in public safety as an Assistant Professor at Sam Houston State University. Since joining MGT, Margo has continued to impart her knowledge of corrections and public safety to a different audience.
